Roundup on health care

Malkin, as usual, is on top of the situation. She has a roundup here on what's going on. It becomes perfectly obvious that what Obama said when Republicans were in control is not what he is going to do now. He wants this health care bill at all costs; they are willing to sacrifice seats in the fall to ram this through because they think they will have more power building a structural hierarchy of health care monitors, all paid for by the government, OUR tax dollars. Who honestly thinks putting 30 million people on health care with the same number of doctors we have now is going to be CHEAPER? Who honestly thinks adding 118 new bureaucracies is going to be CHEAPER? Who honestly thinks health care will be more accessible for ANYONE if/when this goes through?

Obama Interview with the Concord Monitor 10/9/07
You’ve got to break out of what I call the sort of fifty plus one pattern of presidential politics. Maybe you eke out a victory of fifty plus one. Then you can’t govern. You know, you get Air Force One, there are a lot of nice perks, but you can’t deliver on healthcare. We are not going to pass universal health care with a fifty plus one strategy.
