It is less well-known that Escalante left Garfield after problems with colleagues and administrators, and that his calculus program withered in his absence. That untold story highlights much that is wrong with public schooling in the United States and offers some valuable insights into the workings -- and failings -- of our education system.
He is a teacher of all time. It is very sad that he got physical pain by Cancer. But he really delivered inspiration to the society. I heard the bad news first at DISH TV

I heard earlier about the reason behind his resignation from the field. It was not fare. Often such thing happens with the good people. I hope he will get a better environment in Heaven. I watched " Stand and Deliver" in DIRECT TV.
