"Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance."If Pelosi wants us to imagine it, let's do it with a few caveats, shall we? If liberal Boomers such as Nancy Pelosi insist on creating government incentives for a generation of people to be unemployed artists who nonetheless have their health care paid for by productive members of society, there will be fewer productive members of society.

An easy way to become an artist
Know anyone who's lying around his/her parents' house, speculating one day that he/she will REALLY make it in the world one day by becoming a great artist/writer/comedian. He/she can draw/write/make jokes really well. People say so. And, besides, it's so comfy in the basement. There's very little pressure from the outside world, parents leave him/her alone when smoking pot and the creative juices can really get flowing in that atmosphere. And now, as Mary Katherine Ham suggests over at Weekly Standard, there IS a way to make this happen...when we get government health care!
