Rundown on the "leftists are non-violent" meme

You hear it over and over: these tea partiers are violent, disruptive and unpatriotic. There is concern over the airwaves about the safety of leftists, including the current resident of the White House. Some commentators (Joan Walsh, Bill Clinton, you know who you are) have even said that leftists are not guilty of nor capable of the kind of threat that tea partiers represent. What a joke. Nordlinger mentions in his article the zombietime website. Here is a link to a Bush post-election rally. Here is a link to the ZombieTime Hall of Shame. These photos are NOT safe for work (or Northwest Ohio) and pretty disgusting, thus verifying the truth of leftist protest, unlike tea party protests.
Howard Dean — not an unwashed citizen, but a man who was soon to be chairman of the Democratic National Committee — said, “I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for.” Plus, “This,” meaning politics, “is a struggle of good and evil. And we’re the good.” An editor of The New Republic wrote a piece called “The Case for Bush Hatred.” It began, “I hate President George W. Bush” — well, of course.
