Commentary on Obama's boring speechs

Heh. This has been funny, watching the press finally react to the slobbering gooberish speech in which The One engages. It's like, all of a sudden, they've discovered it doesn't mean anything. Be sure to read the Kornblut article to which the author Rubin refers:

The mainstream media is slowly waking up to the fact that Obama is a bore. No, really. He’s long since stopped saying anything new or interesting, and he talks constantly, at great length. So when he went into a mind-numbing filibuster to a perfectly reasonable question from a woman at a Q&A session in Charlotte as to whether it was smart to throw a load of new taxes into health-care “reform,” not even the Washington Post’s Anne Kornblut could conceal her — and the audience’s — disdain for the Condescender in Chief:

Gore afraid of media

Once again, Al Gore is afraid to confront the media or take questions regarding his ridiculous global warming claims:

A Gore aide said Tuesday that media members will only be allowed to record video and audio of the first five minutes of Gore's talk at Duke University on April 8. Photography will also be limited. Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said the restrictions are standard for his talks but she wouldn't say why they are in place.

Gallup surveys tea partiers

And guess what? The tea partiers are representative of the United States--not just all old white guys, no matter what you've heard. Read a breakdown over at YID.

In several other respects, however -- their age, educational background, employment status, and race (yes RACE) ,Tea Partiers are quite representative of the public at large. This is slightly different than the Winston poll which projected that the typical Tea Party member was older than the general public.

Some credit scammers get caught

While others get away mortgage free. Probably the most galling of the debt forgiveness scam was the credit card "forgiveness." Imagine all those people charging new makeup, shoes, trips to Cancun, new furniture on their credit cards and having the GOVERNMENT (the government has no money, incidentally, so that would be YOU and ME) pay off their debts. Now (sob) they are going to have to PAY something for that little treat.

Roughly two million embattled Americans got credit-card relief last year -- getting banks to cut their huge card balances, thus allowing them to crawl out from under the giant debt bus and get on with their lives.

Well, surprise, here comes a second bus to run them down: that forgiven debt is considered income and Uncle Sam wants his share.

That's right, two million temporarily overjoyed people are going to have to pay income tax on the forgiven debt.

Their lives will never be the same

This is what we warned but few listened. Nowhere was this point made in the MSM. The lives of the crooked politicians who voted for Obamacare will NEVER be the same. We reminded of Ben Nelson's reception when he went home after receiving the cornhusker kickback; he was booed out of the restaurant. So no one wants to be around the crooks who voted for the monstrosity. Here are the first reports. They just can't understand why people are being mean to them. Harry Reid cancels speech

People are being MEAN to him! They are saying NASTY THINGS! And leaving nasty VOICEMAILS!

Harry Reid of Nevada canceled giving his testimony at an LDS fireside last Sunday night because of angry calls, e-mails and even threats. The Democratic Senator is a member of the LDS Church and was invited to offer remarks at an LDS fireside at the Tule Springs Stake in Las Vegas. The fireside on “Why I Believe” was canceled after the threats were made. His press secretary said there were no threats of violence initiated against Reid but he canceled because of the threats against his invitation to speak. Sen. Reid received a warm welcome at BYU in October, 2007 and stands firm on his religious and political views.

Tea partiers are just ordinary citizens, mostly people who have never been politically active before. Concern about the direction of this country has motivated ordinary citizens to protest the actions of the government regarding foolish and destructive spending, extraordinary and divisive preferences and the general left-wing bent of the government. Truly extraordinary measures have been taken by the MSM and this administration to discredit these citizens, to demean and discourage them and to stop the flood of social action in which they are participating. It's pretty obvious, and pretty pathetic, that a once noble effort to extend civil rights to all individuals has come to this. It's pretty pathetic. This article attempts to reconstruct the events of 3/20/2010, in which Congressional Democrats were reportedly harassed by Tea Party activists with racial and sexual slurs during their walks to and from the Capitol building. Reports that black Congressmen had been called the "n-word" spread within minutes into mainstream media reports.

Coarse, crude and inflammatory

If you've been cruising the web today, you know that Barack Obama has adopted the crude epithet uttered by Joe Biden on the adoption of the monstrous health care bill. He is using it to sell merchandise, which only emphasizes to the opponents of the health care bill that he is the president of the left wing only, not most of America. Certainly those who adamantly opposed the adoption of a bill that will lead and is intended to lead to government run health care were offended by his in-your-face over-the-top rhetoric mocking people who had reasonable disagreements with not only the bill,but the way the congress went about passing the bill, such as using new numbers and procedures to determine the bill as passed. Now the selling of these offensive t-shirts reveals without a doubt his intent: he is not interested in being president of the United States of America. Instead he is truly the most divisive president ever elected by people who believed in him and hoped for a post racial, unifying presidency.

Ha! The video proved his LIE!

So even though Maxine is running around complaining about right wingers and being spat on because of race, Cleavers is claiming he never said he was spat on....BUT HE DID! Weasel Zippers has the WHOLE thing...

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver voted in favor of the controversial health care reform bill, but talk isn't raging about how voted, but whether or not he was purposely spit on as he and other congressmen made their way to the U.S. Capitol building to cast their vote. 

In video of the incident, a man is seen with his hands around his mouth and yelling at the Kansas City, Missouri, Democrat as he walked by. The footage shows Rep. Cleaver reacting to the man, and is seen a few seconds later wiping his face.

Socialism admitted...not a bad thing!

So if you have ever been laughed at for accusing The One of being a socialist at, say a CHRISTMAS party in December, you might find it interesting that that is what is being touted as FAIRNESS now...by Baucus, by the vice president, by the head of the democrat party....Huh. When tea partiers said it, it was ludicrous, hate language, ill-informed ignorance. But now when dems say it, it's FAIR? At The Washington Examiner:

Health reform is "an income shift," Democratic Sen. Max Baucus said on March 25. "It is a shift, a leveling, to help lower income, middle income Americans."

In his halting, jumbled style, Baucus explained that in recent years "the maldistribution of income in America has gone up way too much, the wealthy are getting way, way too wealthy, and the middle income class is left behind." The new health care legislation, Baucus promised, "will have the effect of addressing that maldistribution of income in America."

The big baby is at it again

Or should I write Big Baby....whining about how mean the right wing is to him. Geez. How presidential. What gravitas.  If only he had a little "cowboy" in him.

It's actually pretty scary when the President of the United States of America calls out individual citizens by name for doing nothing more than exercising their 1st Amendment rights.

Obama's horror at the 'vitriol' of public debate is pretty selective. I don't seem to recall him taking say, Keith Olbermann to task over his rantings about Bush (which I'm pretty sure Bush never whined about like a little bitch). Hell, Obama could slap Olby around right now for calling Tea Party participants racists.

New law regarding home repairs

There's nothing they won't tax or regulate or supervise. Badly, all of them.

Home-owners may find themselves unable to complete home repairs or re models after April 22nd. 

A New law that requires Contractors repairing or painting homes made before 1978 or facilities occupied by children comes into effect on April 22, 2010.

The law requires that contractors be certified and trained in lead-safe work practices. The EPA began processing applications on October 22, 2009 for the ruling originally issued by the EPA on April 22, 2008.

Contractors must also provide owners, tenants, and child-care facilities with a copy ofEPA's lead hazard information pamphlet.

Contractors who fail to comply face large fines. 

It may be hard to find a qualified remodeler due to a shortage of accredited trainers if the ruling goes into effect as planned according to The National Association of Home Builders.

Shift away from Kasich toward Strickland?

Who knows. Kasich hasn't been anywhere....on the air in commercials, on tv...not too much shakin' there. We'll see.

But at the same time it is reading the opposite of the previous two polls in this race, so I’d like to see another poll before making any conclusions. If Kasich leads in the next poll, then we dismiss the PPP poll entirely as a statistical anomaly. If Strickland leads again, then we conclude that the last month has seen a steady slide away from Kasich, because the chance of two consecutive outliers is only 1/400, which is probably too small to take seriously.

New auto regs to add $1300 per car

You probably heard about the new EPA regulations for autos. Did you hear they will add $1300 per car? What? You thought the government would pay for that? Oh, wait. The government doesn't HAVE any money. WE do.

The disaster that is the Obama administration

We've all been watching with horror. It's pretty obvious at this point that what is being done to our country is intentional. These are not mistakes, missteps or novice. This is intentional. Follow the links for the story.

Put simply, the problem is that the government isn't controlling its spending. 

Everything Obama's doing is obvious: implementing a value-added tax, throwing sludge into the economy, transforming the society, rejecting the limits in the Constitution, cramming liberal activists throughout the judiciary, massively expanding the federal bureaucracy, and moving rule-making power to unelected bureaucrats. It's not change, it's not hope, it's a disaster.

     Although we do think Sean needs to address this issue personally as the issue grows, the left blogs and media have picked up the story about Sean Hannity and Freedom Alliance and their finances.     A personal observation about Schlussel: she's had it in for Hannity for years, originally claiming that Sean lifted material from her. Of course, this is difficult to narrow down because once things hit the blogosphere, they're sort of...out there. In addition, if you look at her website, you can find lots of vitriol directed at lots of people, especially conservatives. Nobody meets her standards. An objective review of her blog reveals a pretty bitter person who's done some really good work, but can't quite achieve balance in her life.       
    Just sayin.'

With another programming day built around widely-discredited charges against a key cable rival, MSNBC has become Get Sean TV. Never mind low ratings, if the smears can be repeated often enough, perhaps they'll catch on elsewhere.

Dem fears Guam will tip over

There's a hilarious write-up over at Ace with REAL VIDEO (not the Onion) of some Dem Congressman from Georgia talking about not wanting to move military troops over to Guam because he's afraid the island will....tip over..Ace wants to emphasize that this congressperson voted FOR Obamacare...and he's makin' up the rules as he goes cuz he's smarter n'you. Sidenote: How on earth are these people elected? Who returns them to office? Why on earth would we trust THEM with our health care?

Noted PhD and Mensa Chapter President Rep. Hank Johnson asserted that his "fear" is that the influx of people to the island would cause it to "tip over and capsize."

Let it be noted, that Rep. Hank Johnson, noted geologist and acclaimed expert on continental drift and plate tectonic theory, voted in favor of Obamacare. He knows better than you about things and stuff.
