Oakland employees protesting themselves

  Haw haw haw! Get this! 
  Oakland, which has had such a difficult time with violent demonstrators, has a MAYOR who, in conflict with her liberal tendencies and her job as leader of her community, decided to express solidarity with the OWS demonstrators, but also encouraged all city employees to attend the protest by giving them the day off!
  The police, who have endured taunting and assault, are wondering why they not only have not been given the day off but have been given the task of containing the mob which now will be bigger and have city employees as part of them?
  Who are they protesting? THEMSELVES???
  Has this ever been done in HISTORY?
  The cities where the OWS protesters are most out of control are run by liberals, both Democrats and Republicans. In fact, in several cities, some Democrats have taken the step of trying to remove the protesters. Like fleas, they keep coming back.
  Big Government has the letter from the Patrolmans' Association wondering why a mayor would put herself in this ridiculous position:

Meanwhile, a message has been sent to all police officers: Everyone, including those who have the day off, must show up for work on Wednesday. This is also being paid for by Oakland taxpayers. Last week’s events alone cost Oakland taxpayers over $1 million. 

The Mayor and her Administration are beefing up police presence for Wednesday’s work strike they are encouraging and even “staffing,” spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for additional police presence – at a time when the Mayor is also asking Oakland residents to vote on an $80 parcel tax to bail out the City’s failing finances.

  Is this not INSANE? Why on earth would a LEADER behave in this way?
