There are so many things wrong with this statement.
First, who says the way Imus did it was right. As I recall, Imus pussy footed around a bit before he actually got around to apologizing.
For another, there wasn't a larger political point at stake. Rush was drawing an analogy between the Fluke's claim of needing thousands of somebody else's dollars for contraception and someone else's ability to pay for that contraception for her, even though cheap sources are available is she actually showed some initiative.
What point was Imus making?
The Fluke woman already said, in the usual gracious way that leftists have, that she does NOT accept Rush's apology.
So what else is to be said?
Please.
It's pretty obvious that Imus made his apology out of political correctness; he has no understanding or political acumen. He's acting self righteous now because he isn't in a pickle at the present moment.
Pretty tired of hearing about the drugs, considering how many people are on drugs for whatever illness, pain, depression, ETCETERA. Unfortunately, many and even most people are on drugs in this Idiocracy we're living in.
Daily Caller:
Here is the problem with all of this — it was a vile personal attack on this woman,” Imus said. “And it was sustained over, again, and it was Wednesday, come back and double down on Thursday and come back and double down on Friday and then issue a lame apology on your website in which you say, ‘I didn’t mean to personally attack her,’ when you did attack her. So, were it me and I ran a radio station or whatever, I’d make him go down there and apologize to her face-to-face. He owns a Gulfstream 4. Get on it, go to Washington, take her to lunch and say, ‘Look, I’m sorry I said this stuff and never do it again, period.’ Now, he’s an insincere pig, pill-popping pinhead.”
