Most Think Government Encourages Illegal Immigration

Do you think the government encourages illegal immigration? If you do you've got company. According to a Rasmussen poll 59 percent of voters say the government does encourage illegal immigration. Among Republicans it's 70 percent, independants 61 percent, and Democrats 46 percent. Forty-seven percent believe the better approach to dealing with illegal immigration is relying on the federal government to enforce the law, but the same number 46% says it is better to allow individual states to act on their own to enforce it. How about sending federal troops to the borders? Sixty-one percent think thats a good idea while 26 percent oppose it.
