One of the questions I would like to see asked at one of Obama's town halls is what the hell he intends to do about the 14,000 abandoned windmills that now litter the nation's landscape. As tax subsidies expired utilities walked away from these Chinese bird choppers. No they don't produce cheap electric power. Local rate payers, who are the real losers in this green scheme, looked askance at the idea of paying more for undependable power from the beginning. Their worst fears have been confirmed in spades. They had to pay higher electrical bills to pay for the new wind turbines and now they will be saddled with the cost of their removal. Meanwhile the country's electrical grid has become increasingly stressed as conventional power generation investments were misdirected to a green energy solution that doesn't work.
“There are many hidden truths about the world of wind turbines from the pollution and environmental damage caused in China by manufacturing bird choppers,” noted environmental blogger Tory Aardvark in a recent post about wind farms, also citing the dangerous noise produced by turbines. He added,
"The symbol of Green renewable energy, our savior from the non existent problem of "Global Warming," abandoned wind farms are starting to litter the planet as globally governments cut the subsidies taxes that consumers pay for the privilege of having a very expensive power source that does not work every day for various reasons like it’s too cold or the wind speed is too high." He calls the 14,000 plus windmills symbols of a “dying Climate Religion.”
This abandoned wind farm in Hawaii shows windmills churn only tax subsidies not cheap power.
