It rankles me that in none of the Republican debates so far no one has been able to land a solid punch on Mitt Romney. To his credit, Romney knows how to slip a punch, a skill honed over the almost five years in his avocation of running for president. But more than fast foot work Romney can thank the rest of the field for training their fire on his opponents. The next debate will feature a new rising star and Romney can stand smiling as the field trains it fire on Herman Cain. Unless Cain has some heretofore hidden dexterity he may be in for the fight of his political life. If the Tea Party didn't like Romney's off again on again infatuation with Obamacare or Perry's in-state tuition for illegal immigrants it will be odd if they are going to look kindly on Cain's endorsement of TARP-not just an endorsement but an eloquent appeal for all good capitalists to forget their principles and get on board.
"Earth to taxpayers! Owning stocks in banks is not nationalization of the banking industry. It’s trying to solve a problem. The unprecedented financial crisis has caused the Treasury of the United States to take unprecedented measures to help solve the problem of frozen credit and cash flow for U.S. businesses....Wake up people! Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem."
No that statement does not make Herman Cain a bad man but just as Romney, Perry, Bachmann, and especially Pawlenty have found out leading isn't easy.
