Anonymous Threatens NYSE

The OccupyWallStreet web site has listed its backers and you would do well to remember these groups when you vote next year. Actually it looks like a roster of the national Democrats campaign donors. Of course MoveOn.org is there. The United Auto Workers, apparently not content to have stuck it to the Chrysler bondholders now wants to go for it all and take over the banks. No collection of malcontents is complete without the United Federation of Teachers. Do not be surprised when you find out that OccupyWallStreet has be funded in part by the Democrat party and eventually someone will discover a link to Obama's presidential campaign. Communication workers- check but where are the Machinists, the Teamsters and the building trades. It could be they didn't get the memo but it could also be the leadership doesn't think it can sell the membership on this folly.

Just because this B-grade morality play borders on the inane is no reason for Congressman Dennis Kucinich not to fawn lovingly on"... the young men and women who are braving the overreaction of local authorities to raise their voices against the corruption and manipulation of our nation that emanates from Wall Street: I say to you that your presence is making a difference. You are exercising the right every American holds most dear, the right of freedom of expression, and with that expression you are finally getting the attention of the nation." The excitable legislator then goes on to rant in Ron Paul like fashion about Fed policy and the need for the Congress to exercise its power to coin money. Yeah, I know it doesn't make a lot of sense but the demonstrators don't know that. Hell, Dennis probably doesn't know that. You can hear it here.

“We share the anger and frustration of so many Americans who have seen the enormous toll that an unchecked Wall Street has taken on the overwhelming majority of Americans while benefiting the super wealthy,” Reps. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said in a joint statement. “We have the crooks on Wall Street, and I use that word advisedly – don't misquote me, the word is crooks – whose greed, whose recklessness, whose illegal behavior caused this terrible recession with so much suffering,” Chimed in Senator Bernie Sanders. Nice work guys now tell us who voted to bail out the banks? And if there are crooks on Wall Street Eric Holder has had three years to bring charges against the miscreants.

The odd man out in this fool's game is Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He had just about had the smokers on the run. He had courageously driven salt shakers from even the best restaurants and boldly taken aim at trans fats then all of sudden he has streets teeming with dirty brats. He has police force working overtime and losing patience with the young Democrats and reflects on what the 1968 riots did to Richard Daley's reputation. New Yorkers are beginning to tire of the incessant traffic jams, noise and odor from the demonstrators and while he would love nothing more than condemn the rogues of Wall Street he knows that crooked or not they fund his nanny state.

Now the plot runs off the rails. The hacker group Anonymous has decided to put its dog in the fight. It posted this video on YouTube and threatens to take down the New York Stock Exchange.
“This is why we chose to declare our war against the New York Stock Exchange. We can no longer stay silent as the population is being taken advantage of for the sake of profit. We will show the world that we are true to our word. On Oct. 10, NYSE will be erased from the internet. On Oct. 10, expect a day that will never, ever be forgot.”
We don't need an FBI profiler to know they guys aren't English majors but an attack on the NYSE is a pretty bold move. It is unnerving to think some group of outlaws could disrupt the normal trading of securities. I would hope that if attacked, the NYSE would file a Rico suit against all of the OccupyWallStreet backers.
