New York Democrats are frantic over the possibility of losing the seat vacated by Anthony Weiner. With less than three weeks to go Democrat David Weprin holds a 6 point lead over his Republican rival, Bob Turner in a district where Democrats outnumber Republicans by a margin of almost 3 to 1. About one third of the district's voters live in Brooklyn where Turner leads. The Queens portion is still controlled by Weprin. The district was last won by the Republicans in 1921.
