"This deal weakens the Democratic Party as badly as it weakens the country. We have given much and received nothing in return," said Rep. Raul M. Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat and co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Suppose Congresswoman Michele Bachmann had said the proposed debt ceiling deal would weaken the Republican Party? She could then pack up her campaign and go home because Tea Party voters are not interested in preserving the power of any party. Congressman Grijalva's statement speaks volumes about the Democrats' need for other peoples money to maintain their power and good life. The mainstream media of course agrees that the congressman's view is technically correct albeit a little too partisan to be said in public. They would never say that compulsorily taxation and redistributive spending for the establishment and maintenance of political elite is immoral, unconscionable, and un-American which it is. So the congressman is allowed to go one television with a presumption of moral superiority, and make an almost divine rights argument to the coffers of the United States Treasury.
"We urge you to invoke section 4 of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution to raise the debt ceiling and enable the United States government to meet its financial obligations if Congress fails to act in time. We believe that you have both the authority and a moral obligation to do so in order to avoid an economic catastrophe of historic proportions."
That bit of political desperation comes from the Congressional Black Causes' Emaneul Cleaver and John Conyers. Senators John Kerry, Tom Harkin and Bernie Sanders agree with this strategy. Never mind that section 5 of that amendment states; “The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article”. Since these desperadoes don't think the Supreme Court could rein Obama fast enough to stop the spending it is put forth a sound governing policy, necessary to preserve their claim to the tax payers' dollars. If nothing else the ongoing debt ceiling debate has revealed the true motivation and the extreme length to which the ruling class will go to maintain its grip on power.
The Tea Party revolt is long overdue.
