Having been accused of encouraging murder, she has a right to defend herself. Professor Jacobsen agrees:

I now have viewed the interview (via Right Scoop), and Palin did very well. If Palin were a liberal Democrat, she would be receiving accolades in the mainstream media.Like describing Palin as "livid."
Her demeanor wasn't livid at all. It was restrained and heartfelt.
Palin can defend herself, but it sure is maddening to watch this misogyny take place. One can only imagine if a democrat woman had been treated this way.
Then Newt, who doesn't seem to be able to keep his mouth shut these days, comes out and says this, with video over at Breitbart:
"I think that she has got to slow down and be more careful and think through what she’s saying and how she’s saying it. There is no question that she has become more controversial, but she is still a phenomenon. I don’t know anybody else in American politics who can put something on Twitter or put something on Facebook and automatically have it become a national story,” Gingrich said about his possible 2012 rival. “So she remains, I think, a formidable person in her own right.Just to polish off the thought with a flourish, watch this:
