The country suffers; after all, it was announced by The One that "everyone must sacrifice."
And sacrifice the country has. In fact, Gallup has found that underemployment is at 19%, while unemployment is 9.6%
And sacrifice the administration's employees have, as exhibited by poor Robert Gibbs, who has struggled to get by on a "modest" $174,000 a year. The Atlantic exposes some of the other sacrifices Gibbs will have to make when he quits to be limo-ed around the country to make $50,000 speeches:
In bidding a sort-of farewell to White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, [Obama] noted the "relatively modest pay" for which Gibbs has labored.
In fact, he earns $172,200 in a nation where the average family income hovers around $55,000, unemployment is high, record foreclosures persist and wages for most folks are at best stagnant.Others in the administration have had to suffer, too, as First Lady Michelle Obama had to fly to Hawaii without her husband, at a cost of $63,000 to the taxpayers. Their vacation cost the taxpayers $1 and half million. Who knows what it would have cost if they hadn't had to sacrifice?
And Obama followers have had to suffer, too, as they had to listen to some minor celebrity call for a personal fight with their hero, The One. It was painful to hear that UFC Lightweigh Jacob Volkmann wants to "fight" "that idiot" Obama, so a follower felt compelled to call the FBI to complain and get them to investigate the "threat" to President Obama, notwithstanding the numerous plays, movies, scripts, calls for the death of President George W. Bush.
How funny is it to hear these liberal democrats whingeing about lack of transparency. Tres amusant!
The state of Illinois is going along with the whole sacrifice thing by taxing small businesses who work through Amazon, who decided they would cut them off when that happens. This will cost the state of Illinois at least $18 million through loss of state income tax from these individuals but no problem! Sacrifice is called by for all!
Oh, and you may have been (haw haw haw) hearing that it was going to increase the deficit (haw haw haw) by repealing the health care bill (haw haw haw). Some guy over at NRO Corner puts into perspective that the figure derived at through various machinations was a CBO number based on the following fallacious, untruthful lies that was fed to it by the people who passed it in the first place.
From NRO Corner:
● Leaving out the roughly $115 billion in discretionary spending needed to implement the bill,
● Counting the $70 billion in premiums for long-term care insurance (CLASS Act), but ignoring the unsustainable CLASS Act spending that starts after the first 10 years,
● Using over $50 billion in higher Social Security taxes to offset health spending,
● Leaving out entirely the cost of paying Medicare doctors,
● Pretending that over $450 billion in payment cuts to Medicare providers will be possible without changing in any real way the operation of Medicare,
● And planning to collect a tax on cadillac health insurance that the unions have already gutted and will not tolerate
