This article over at Politico is hilarious, if you don't let it get to you that the liberal purpose is to destroy the United States as fast as possible. They're mad, MAD that they haven't gotten ALL that they want NOW, like DADT, 100% union membership nationally, universal health care coverage with all foreign doctors and long wait lines for everybody but them, card checks of every union vote. You know, that sort of thing.
Got that? It's the Republicans' fault. With their tiny little minority, they are ruining everything. They get whatever they want from everybody without even putting much effort forth.
That's NOT what a democracy is all about, dammit! In a democracy, liberals should be able to push through whatever they want with a majority. Oh, wait.
And anyway, it's rigged against THEM. Never before in history has it occurred that politicians didn't get what they wanted immediately.
Ya WONDER what direction we're headed? Ya really THINK that, vanden Heuvel? Cause a lot of us out here in flyover country are pretty SURE where we're headed. It's where we get our energy.
The article goes on to complain that we didn't spend ENOUGH on the stimulus, or spend it FAST enough, and Obama COMPROMISED too much to get what they got (democracy? Apparently nobody's had to compromise before.) And besides, why didn't Obama limit everybody's pay raises, except, of course, union members?
EJ Dionne goes on to lisp angrily that the bad economy was just another problem they face that is screwing everything up; at no point do these people seem to understand that the very policies they are enacting are CAUSING the problems.
No light bulb (incandescent or cfl) appears above the heads of any of these so-called brilliant people to enlighten them that their spending is disastrous for the country. Dionne just whines that it isn't fair that this big opportunity they have to "reform" the country is being ruined by the rascally economic conditions:
That dang 10% unemployment rate is clouding the vision.
Sand? What sand? I'm waiting for sand in the gears. The only sand in the gears I've seen has been the public uprising in liberal land that elected Scott Brown. That would be called THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. The power is granted by the PEOPLE....the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.
So what is the solution to all this?
The solution to their problems is a TEA PARTY!!
That's right! The dreaded racist homophobic violent energy of the TEA PARTY will fix progressive problems !
Heh! HEH! DOUBLE HEH!
So all these months we've been scorned, ridiculed, mocked with every dirty trick in the book, all they wanted is to steal our energy, like vampires. (They tried that vampire thing, too, but it had limited success.)
You may have heard and seen that the democrats are pushing an anti-tea party movement as a counter measure. So far it's panned out as a coffee party, unions crashing townhall meetings, now something called The Nation, which is basically busing union thugs with professional signs and placards to places to protest stuff like Jan Brewer's appearance in Boston. Be on the lookout for more stuff like that.
Yeah, well, it wasn't conservative ideas that drove us off the cliff. It was liberal ideas espoused by RINOs. We need more Eric Cantors and Paul Ryan. Those guys are sharp.
Heh. The tea party's the answer.
And you can't create that.
That's real grassroots.
Massive tax cuts for the rich and financial de-regulation were "liberal ideas?" Assuming the cliff is the recession and massive unemployment, if those two things weren't the main causes of the recession than I'd like to know what you think were. And I'd like to know how either of those were "liberal ideas."
ReplyDeleteHeh. The basic difference is we believe in private sector, business based economies and not huge government run layers and layers of union employees who respond to no one, are protected through incompetence and are paid more than everyone else. The rich? Well, if you guys have your way, there won't be any more "rich." Even LeBron figured that out. Financial deregulation? Yeah. More government rules always fix everything, according to your idols Frank and Dodd. The picture of the new "health care" bill is perfect. Almost 3000 pages of rules and 150 new departments, not to mention IRS agents. That's gonna fix everything. RINOs were certainly complicit. It's conservative ideas and principles that encourage economic growth, not the ridiculous and socialist Keynesian policies.
