Why Was The Military Unwilling to Aid in the Benghazi Attack?

Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News has raised a serious question that the Obama administration does not need just now. Did the United States do all that it could have done to save the four Americans that were killed in Benghazi? K.T. McFarland of FoxNews raised this question a few weeks ago, noting that the US has Delta force assets in Sicily. Attkisson identifies other US assets only an hour away from Libya that could have been deployed to save the Americans. It looks as if the men were hung out to dry by a government that was either unwilling or too  incompetent to help.

  1. Yes, why, This seems inexplicable. If they sent troops in to save the CIA et al, what would they have lost except the talking point that al Qaeda is diminishing? Instead we have lost lives and some very confused narrative.

I'm also curious about why the Cairo consul released their "calming" "we don't want to hurt anybody's religious feelings" statement BEFORE anything had actually happened.

Again, it's almost as if they KNEW something was imminent. Then why would they have been so slow to respond?

I guess I'm still ascribing to the kidnap/swap the blind sheikh theory. It makes most sense, at this point.

    1. I think when we get to the bottom of this we'll find Obama was afraid to send troops into Lybia for fear of upsetting the Muslim world. It would be a violation of Lybia's sovereignty. He only wants to lead from behind.
