Rather than stay in Washington at the White House, Obama is heading off to occupyoahu.com.
One might ask.
How many times in a lifetime does an individual get to celebrate Christmas as an resident?
How many times does an individual have the opportunity to be messenger of hope, celebration and Christian love from the most powerful house in the world?
Wouldn't it be much more productive politically, both for the POTUS and the country, to stay in DC, visit a soup kitchen, greet the people who visit the White House and send a message of hope rather than materialism and selfishness?
But Obama's never been bothered by the optics of narcissism that float around him like a Pigpen cloud.
So off he goes to Hawaii, not just for a week but for almost three.
And it's not like it's Texas in August, after all. It's Hawaii, an exotic vacation escape.
Not dirtying his hands with the mechanics of actually building HOPE, Obama finds time to admonish Congress to stay in town until they get done what he wants...extending the payroll tax cut (???why this tax?) and yet more unemployment benefits.
He's been missing Hawaii.
He hasn't been there for two weeks.
