Connie Smith was born August 14, 1941 in Elkhart, IN. She began her career in 1963 after winning a local talent contest near Columbus, Ohio which attracted the attention of country songwriter and singer Bill Anderson. Her signature song "Once a Day" was released in 1964. She performs with her husband, Marty Stuart on the RFDTV show The Marty Stuart Show.
