Santorum Holds Onto to Lead in Michigan

The latest Public Policy Polling poll out of Michigan shows Rick Santorum clinging to a 4 point lead over Willard Romney, 37 to 33 percent. Fifteen percent goes to Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich trails with 10 percent. After a week of negative ads and being outspent by a ratio of 29 to 1 Santorum's support has only declined by 2 percentage points. His net favorability rating is unchanged at 67/23. Oddly one group that Santorum isn't pulling is Catholics where he trails Romney 43 to 31 percent. Romney also wins the seniors' vote (42-34), women (38-34), and moderates (35-24).

Santorum wins among Protestants (47-30), union members (42-23), Evangelicals (51-24), Tea Partiers (55-20) and men (40-28). Forty-seven percent of the Republicans polled think Gingrich should drop out of the race.
