One would think the Democrats would have had enough of Twitter after the Weiner affair. But no, today Obama will conduct a Twitter townhall where the questions will be limited to the maximum of 145 characters. Of course it's all show. Obama is not going to respond to "#AskObama How come the price of oil is higher than June 22". So much for that silliness. But the White House has hired a "Director of Progressive Media & Online Response" for the modest salary of $72,500 solely to tweet. Puffington Host writes glowingly how the director, Jesse Lee, when he was a mere White House blogger, fearlessly defended the administration against Glen Beck's onslaught. According to the Daily Caller Mr.Lee knows a thing or two about cyber bullying.
Of the 267 tweets written by Lee in just over a month, a stunning 40 of them have been directed at Kevin Eder, a prolific Twitter user with more than 83,000 tweets to his credit. That means 15 percent of Lee’s tweets — from an official White House account no less — have been with Eder.
This begs the question: #AskObama why spend 11k to chat with one guy?
I'd like to make $72,000 sitting on my fat ass tweeting once in a while, especially with the force of the government behind me and my fat ass.
ReplyDeleteSame here. We should get at least 11k just for tweeting each other.
