A pattern has emerged; vigilant we remain

  What's not to trust?
If you're a news hound, you're aware of these items already; let's review a bit.
A few days ago Janet Napolitano said DHS was prepared 364 days a year, which has led to hooting around the web that DHS is in the habit of taking, forgive the expression, Christmas Day off which, if you'll recall, was the day last year an opportunity was seized by a young man to wreak havoc on a flight into Detroit.
Then yesterday our Director of National Intelligence admitted on camera that he had no idea 12 men were arrested in London for plotting another nefarious incident. As Powerline points out, apparently the American Director of National Intelligence does not receive daily briefings.
You heard it on the news. And the internet. And on the radio.
But our DNI apparently knew nothing.
  Again.
Commentary Magazine writes about Obama's overwhelming need to put his imprimatur on our health care system and the fact that he was repeatedly warned that this might destroy the democrat party for years to come; indeed, at least 1/3 of the lost democrat seats can be attributed to the unpopularity of the health care overhaul.
Do we see a pattern here?
Warned again and again of serious problems, this administration continues to focus on only what it wants, recklessly disregarding, ignoring or closing its eyes to reality.
  Is there a border problem?
  Not any more than usual.
Is there a security problem with the airlines?
We'll examine old ladies and nuns, put in place intrusive policies and questionable xray scanning devices, but open the floodgates for everyone who fits the profile of a, you know, person who shall not be named.
We don't want to discriminate, after all, particularly regarding Christians, Jews or Catholics. Also, like NASA, we might waste DHS resources on pursuing the global warming canard.
  Again.
In today's WSJ, John Fund writes that the research done for the net neutrality rules passed by the FCC yesterday was commissioned by left wing groups such as Soros's oddly named "Open Society." (Newspeak.)
They reached the conclusions they wanted and then the FCC justified doing what they did yesterday with that research.
Fund writes that Obama, having been repeatedly warned by the courts and Congress, not to mention the public, is "seeking to impose his will on the internet through the Executive branch," even though these changes have not been sought, are not needed and most likely will be met with resistance.
Ha. Resistance. It's hard to imagine what the internet geeks will do if this administration tries to impose rules on free speech, such as discarding anonymity on the internet.
You think the Wikileaks debacle is bad?
Wait until the FCC tries to tell people what they can and cannot say online.
All this being said, a certain Beckian gloom can settle over the patriot observer as we watch these events unfold.
  But our resolve is firm.
If the RINOs who retained office do not behave, they will be removed, one by one.
The census, which appears to be untainted, has shifted seats away from the deeply indebted blue states and toward the red states.
A significant slate of candidates is on hand for the Republicans, although we must guard against the standard old next rich white guy in line mentality.
The nation is moving center right, not hard left as we have been subjected to the last two years.
In fact, the much adored by leftists Europe is grappling with the demise of socialism, finally understanding that it simply doesn't work to reward non-productivity and punish achievers. It's a hard road to go back, but they will have to do it.
People can argue and scream all they want about this political view being right or wrong (usually it's some left winger mocking Palin or the right), but the truth remains that the world is made up politically of three kinds of people: passive, controllers, resisters.
Years ago, commentators crowed that the left was defeated, never to be the same.
Not long after, commentators crowed that the right was defeated, never to be the same.
We may crow now that the left has been exposed and is on the downswing, but we must remember that these matters are cyclical, swinging back and forth between right and left periodically because that's the way humans are made.
Middle, right and left, many are patriots.
Some people want only moderation in their politics, but are queasy with anything that is too hard left or right.
Others believe in conservative values, God and country and family. In the recent past, conservatives had the reputation for being judgmental and disapproving. Now, it seems, conservatives are more open and non-judgmental than the left.
On the left has emerged a group of people who want to control every facet of daily life, from the internet we cruise, to the food we eat, to the money we pay the government to spend on such foolishness as superficial research studies that maintain the livelihood of numerous so-called academics living on the government teat.
And the emperor has no clothes, but the media praises his style.
The struggle advances. The forces on the left, the new "McCarthyites," are formidable, organized and well-funded.
Their pattern of behavior indicates that they are not so much interested in preserving the freedom, integrity and force of this nation, but rather to put into place numerous agencies, regulations and departments that will control and oppose the people of this great country, rather than its enemies.
Odd how the governance of this administration has changed the citizens of this country over these two years. In a sense, we have realized this:
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.
Unlike the writer in the link above, I do not get chills when I read these words, even as I know that it is true that the tea partiers are the ones who have changed the course of history. There's little idealism in the repeating of those words: only determination, truth and a certain sardonic twisting smile.
Much like the 18th century farmers who owned little but their muskets and a small piece of land, those on the right have the fire of freedom burning in their breasts, a fire that is borne in the hearts of all men and women in all nations around the world.
It isn't just Americans who love freedom.
These are rights that are ordained by Nature's God, rights that cannot be forfeited or controlled by ill sighted governments who seek to destroy individualism and establish collectivism.
"The battle, Sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave."
