Northwest Ohio pulls together
These are difficult times for Northwest Ohio. Many businesses are shuttering, the local school districts are cutting because of budget shortfalls (much due to state cuts), jobs are at a premium and last weekend several tornados hit the area, devastating Lake Schools and numerous homes and businesses. Yet Northwest Ohio is a good place to live; here the people are sensible and generally kind, so much so that much of the volunteer crews sent in to help have been suspended unless the job you can help with is specialized. Many dollars have been donated, including local restaurants yesterday who donated money from sales to the tornado victims. The Sentinel Tribune has a listing of ways you can help here. The Blade has an article this morning about the outpouring of help.
