Irony: Tea Partiers have become COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

Repeatedly we hear that swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania will go to Obama and that Mitt has only a marginal appeal in these states, yet the facts are shifting toward Mitt/Paul.
Though the full impact of Obama's disastrous policies on energy have yet to be felt, coal miners are beginning to react to the cutbacks and policy that somehow wind and sun will take the place of fossil fuels.
Hoosierman has covered extensively the natural gas boom from tracking the Utica and Marcellus shales in Ohio and Pennsylvania; so far, the feds haven't been able to block that new development. However, when this administration wants something, even a Supreme Court ruling won't stop them from breaking the law and violating the Constitution, ie voter ID laws.
So it's energizing to see hundreds of coal miners attend a Romney rally in great numbers. From the TribLive:
In short, a bad economy has provided Romney the opportunity to upset Obama. Now, he has to seize it.
To do so, Romney must find a way to connect with working men and women of America, said Nichols.
“He cannot rely on economics or policy disagreements to drive dissatisfaction,” he explained. “Rather, Romney must exude the kind of command presence and confidence that converts potential supporters into followers.”

The miners have a right to be concerned since Obama promised at the beginning of his tenure to "bankrupt" the coal industry. Here's the transcript from Weekly Standard:
What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.
I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.
So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them.
So why did W. Virginia's Democrat primary candidate go to a federal inmate?
Why are these miners lined up by the hundreds in this traditionally Democrat district to hear what Mitt has to say?
Writer Zito at SentTrib describes the event pictured in the photo above this stirring way:
Seventy-plus men walked out of the ground, overalls and hardhats covered in coal dust, and onto the risers of a stage built for a Mitt Romney speech.
To onlookers, mostly press and staffers, the image was stunning.
To the 2,600 family members gathered in the gravel parking lot or under tents, eating hot dogs and drinking pop, it was a moment of immense pride.
So let's think about events of the previous months.

  • 2010 election upheaval.
  • Traditional RINO and Democrat incumbents defeated around the country by Tea Partiers.
  • Signs of panic from the Obama administration in the dastardly and absurd accusations against Romney/Ryan.
  • Not as many people showing up for Obama rallies as Romney.
  • Young people, facing a bleak job market, are turning toward Mitt
  • A terrible jobs report that will not get significantly better by November.
  • Gas prices on the rise.
  • Cultural phenomena such as the spontaneous upsurge to support Chick-Fil-A, preceded by Tea Party rallies.
  • Increased activity and organization by Tea Parties across the country, which are no longer TEA PARTIES but COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS led by COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS?
Seems like the Obamabots ought to be worried, wouldn't you say?
