In the closing years of the Bush administration the Federal Communications Commission had 45 employees making over $150,000 per year. Under the Obama administration that number rose to 535. It's not known how the agency's employees spent this new found largess but it's clear that it wasn't used to pay federal income tax. Now the FCC employees owe Uncle Sam $1,084,544 for an average of $544. per employee. To be fair, the majority of FCC staff does pay its fair share but some 75 well paid staffers owe the IRS an average of $14,483 each.
One wonders about an administration that daily preaches the virtue of paying one's fair share that doesn't bother to enforce the tax code on its own employees.
