Sheldon Adelson Bailing On Gingrich

Business Insider is reporting that billionaire casino owner, Sheldon Adelson is bailing out of future contributions to Newt Gingrich's campaign. Apparently Adelson lacks faith in Gingrich's ability to secure the nomination. He has spoken to Mitt Romney and pledged his support if Romney manages to become the nominee. In the meantime the article goes on to say money is flowing into Rick Santorum's campaign as moral and financial support for Gingrich declines. Santorum backer, Foster Fries reports that money is “absolutely rolling in.” to Santorum's Super Pac.

If nothing else Romney seems to have destroyed Gingrich. The former Speaker has seen his approval rating among Republicans drop 34 percent in the last two months. I doubt if Romney can do the same to Santorum. Gingrich's resume brought to mind J. R. Ewing of the long past Dallas television series with infidelities and iffy financial arrangements. While in politics no one is squeaky clean, Santorum's supporters are apt to demand that Romney demonstrate some reason to vote for him other than his proficiency at slander.
