The new Acura NSX supercar wowed the North American International Auto Show today -- and Honda even tied a ribbon on top with the stunning announcement that the mid-engine supercar will be developed and built in Ohio.
That's a huge prize from a company like Honda that prides itself on its Japanese heritage. The original NSX, in fact, was also intended as proof that a humble brand like Honda could run with the likes of Ferrari.
In addition, Ford has announced it will invest $128 million in the Avon Lake plant. Chrysler has announced 1100 new jobs are coming to Toledo. 449 new jobs were created in Lorain. From Governor Kasich's website:
Kasich recited jobs statistics — nearly 83,000 jobs created or retained in Ohio this year — several times during the two-hour briefing.
“We were on death’s doorstep,” Kasich said of Ohio’s economy. “Now we’ve stabilized the patient in this state.”
