Columbia Gas of Ohio to Drop Rates 19 %

This blog has done over 30 posts on the Utica Shale. Type in "Utica", "natural gas", or "boom" in the search to the right to find these posts. The reason I write so many posts on the these subjects is because I view energy production, especially natural gas and oil, as essential to the future prosperity of the nation and specifically to the well being of Ohio. This blog will continue to feature candidates for office who are knowledgeable in energy production such as Josh Mandel and Tom Smith . It will also name elected official who hinder energy production such as Sharrod Brown and Betty Sutton.

If Brown and Sutton get their way we won't see anymore good new like this from yesterday.
"Columbia gas says January bills to be 19% lower than last year"

Columbia Gas of Ohio customers have something to look forward to in January: bills that are lower than they were a year ago.

The company this week said consumers who buy natural gas through its standard service program will pay 19 percent less than in January 2011.

“Our price for natural gas today is nearly as low as it was 10 years ago. How many other companies can say that about their product?” Jack Partridge, president of Columbus-based Columbia Gas of Ohio, said in a statement.

Columbia Gas spokesman Dave Rau said customers who use the budget plan, which allows them to pay a set rate and avoid big variations in their monthly gas bill, might not see the 19 percent rate drop immediately reflected in their January bill.

Tune out the inane prattle and hand wringing about the 99%, global warming, millionaires, billionaires and corporate jets and elect people who support energy production.
