So what will be the impact of a drug 10 times stronger than Vicodin?

Maybe you've heard of the new drug that's 10 times stronger than Vicodin, soon to be   released and dreaded by drug counselors because of its intense addictive qualities.
From the NY Daily News, we learn the concerns regarding Hydrocodone:
"You've got a person on your product for life, and a doctor's got a patient who's never going to miss an appointment, because if they did and they didn't get their prescription, they would feel very sick," Andrew Kolodny, president of Physicians for Responsible Opioid Prescribing said.
"It's a terrific business model, and that's what these companies want to get in on," he added.
Over at The Guardian, we can read about all the cutbacks that accompany socialized medicine as in England, which is exactly what the "paid for" Obamacare is all about:
Doctors cite hospital bed closures, cuts to occupational health support and reductions in community health services as examples of recent cost-cutting measures.
The coalition's pledge to protect the NHS is in fresh doubt after four out of five doctors said they had seen patient care suffer as a result of health service cuts during 2011.
Then let's move back a couple years. American Spectator reminds us what Obama told an audience:
In a nationally televised event at the White House, Obama said families need better information so they don't unthinkingly approve "additional tests or additional drugs that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care."
He added: "Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."
Here's the video. Am I cynical to think that this new drug is exactly what Doctor Obama ordered?
That our doctors, then, will say take a pill instead of receiving treatment?
  Not too farfetched, I'd say.
