Going Nuclear on SOPA

Most of us are aware that the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and its Senate companion bill, Protect-IP give the Feds unacceptable power to censor the web. Google founder Sergey Brin goes even further declaring that these bills "would put us on a par with the most oppressive nations in the world." If you don't want to live in a nation that is among the most oppressive in the world now is the time to act. You must, if your freedom is important to you , call and email your elected representatives and explain to them that the day they vote for these oppressive bills will be the worst day of their lives. This list will give you the contact information needed to contact your two Senators. This link will help you contact your Congressman. Bookmark those pages forward that information or this post to everyone in your address book. Post the information on FaceBook.

You are not alone! Many of the biggest names on the internet are considering the "nuclear option". If carried out, on January 24 the home pages of Google, Amazon, Facebook, and their Internet allies will simultaneously turn black with anti-censorship warnings that ask users to contact politicians about a vote in the U.S. Congress the next day on SOPA. If your Congressman or Senators vote for either of these bills it means they have put the interests of the motion picture and music industries above yours. Make them pay in the primary election if they have an opponent or in the general election in November.
