Buck Up
If you have money in the market the next few days are likely to be painful. The latest GDP numbers are horrendous. The Consumer Price Index shows impending inflation for even those who don't buy groceries or gasoline. The Boehner plan has stalled and likely will die. Suck it up and console yourself with the secure knowledge that this is the beginning of the end of Obama and the ruling class. People in the media, yes the same media that demeaned you and the Tea Party are in abject panic. Enjoy their panic but ignore their commentary. Already we are beginning to hear comparisons to 2008 and the meltdown that brought in the present regime. Keep your head and just resolve yourself to adhere to your principles. Regardless of whether the debt ceiling debate is resolved or not by the August doomsday the bond rating agencies will likely downgrade US debt. That will be and awful and painful blow to our national pride. Our great country that defeated the Axis powers in WWII, that presided over the fall over the USSR has been done in by a socialist president. The electorate will not forgive this failure. Even an affable but ineffective President Bush had his polls driven into the low thirties by a financial panic. An arrogant and condescending Obama will fare worse. This is the fight we've been waiting for let's make the most of it.
Good pep talk. We need that. Geez. This is a mess. I think we need to support that Boehner plan. I sorta changed my mind on that. I also think the Tea Party groups aren't playing for the long haul. They renounced Allen WEst!!! GEez, we sent 'em there because they're likeminded and know what we want.
ReplyDeleteAnd now we're going to be upset because the keep their promise? We selected people who would not bend and they aren't bending. I like Boehner and I am glad the Republicans have conducted themselves with a lot of class with no personal attacks. I'm not sold on the Boehner plan because I think Harry Reid will tweak it to his liking and send it back and then the onus will be on us again. I would really like to see the House raise the debt limit 20 billion each week until after the election. That's a little better than 1 trillion on an annual basis. The deficit is 1.6 trillion plus they could refuse to up the limit unless Obama agreed to roll back some EPA rule this week and some NLRB rule the next week.
ReplyDeleteListening to Rush today, I dunno. It's tough. I'm just glad I'm not in the House. I still think it's crap to go after West. I really like him. I think we elect people to do what they think is best; people like Orrin Hatch and other gems need to get lost. This has to be done incrementally. I guess. I dunno. It's tough. I didn't hear the new Obama speech today either. He grates on my nerves so much that I can barely listen to him, but, he's like a snake, and I can't seem to take my eyes off the tv. Did you hear the speech?
ReplyDeleteHe didn't say much of anything except to tell people to call their congressman. Jason Chaffetz will get Hatch's job. Bet you!
