While much of the media is focused on the sophomoric soap opera, the Mitch and Cheri Daniels show, here in Indiana it might be a good time to state that Mitch was an above average governor with the charisma of a cedar fence post and look to the north for political drama. It now seems that Congressman Paul Ryan will run not for the Presidency but rather for the Senate. Herb Kohl, who has served in the Senate without distinction since 1988, has announced his retirement and will probably sell the Milwaukee Bucks now that there will be no political advantage in owning them.
Ryan will be the odds on favorite to win the seat which will all but complete the Tea Party revolution as far as state wide offices in Wisconsin is concerned. Could it be that once deep blue Wisconsin will boast of a Tea Party backed governor and two Tea Party backed Senators? Two years ago that would have been as unthinkable as Salt Lake City electing a Kennedy.
On Wisconsin !
