Not Flakey Sarah Palin!

How long before Sarah Palin is the default leading Republican? Saturday former governor Mike Huckabee took himself out of the primary race. Sunday on NBC's Meet The Press former House Speaker Newt Gingrich reminded voters that it wasn't the too many wives, the ethanol lobby money, or the Nancy & Newt global warming hogwash that made him unsuitable for the nomination rather it was he is in the wrong party. Mr. Gingrich attacked Paul Ryan's budget as "right wing social engineering" and then endorsed individual health care mandates. I could not have been more surprised if he had proposed putting Lyndon Johnson's face on Mount Rushmore. Does this man not remember the contentious town halls during the health care debate? Adultery! Ethanol! Global Warming! What next? Sharia law and obesity counseling for welfare moms?

Friday Mitt Romney refused to distance himself from his own brand of Obamacare he inflicted on the taxpayers of Massachusetts. Wouldn't be honest he said. Ok we'll give him an "A" for honesty and a "F" for policy. One suspects Romney and Gingrich are playing to the same audience; the wall streeters, health care insurers, and ivy league business schoolers. The sort of good folks that a Mike Castle could be comfortable with, who would reach out to moderate Muslims and reach across the aisle to solve the country's problems and generally muddle through until the nation is completely broke.

Donald Trump, the sometimes Democrat, sometimes conservative and sometimes faithful husband seems to have lost his verve since Obama long formed him. He has never put forth a plan or vision; just blather and brass. Hell, he can't even coax a coherent sentence out of Gary Busey let alone give voice to a whole party. His biggest problem though never articulated by the main stream pundits is he reminds everyone of someone they knew in high school. Yeah that kid. The one who drove a Corvette worth more money than your dad made in a year. The kid who had more cardigan sweaters than the rest of the class combined and dated all the cheer leaders.

Absent any new entrants it's reasonable to expect that Sarah Palin will soon be the leading Gop contender in the Real Clear Politics poll. Yes flakey Sarah Palin. The same flakey Sarah Palin who did more with her Facebook account to counter Obamacare advocates than the entire Republican National Committee. The same flakey Sarah Palin who won't move down to Washington and learn politicalspeak and who shoots caribou and clubs halibut on television. The same Sarah Palin who in 2008 delivered to the Republican Convention and 37 million television viewer the most memorable speech in decades. She stuck a knife in Obama and with a wink and a grin, gave it a twist. Last year she dissected Obamacare and made the Democrats eat it until they puked. This is one tough woman. Bobby Knight-Billy Martin tough. She's the sort of person who can take a brush back pitch, get up, brush off the dirt, stare down the pitcher and slap the next pitch into the bleachers. It could well be that the Presidential election will be won in the Republican primary and Sarah Palin could do that.
Update: Trump will not run. Wow,this guy makes me look good!

  1. Over the last couple of years, while others were planing on how to convince us that they have ample capability and fortitude, Sarah was showing us she has ample capability and fortitude. She is the one that can beat the billion dollar man.

    2012 can't come soon enough.

  2. Sarah Palin is the most remarkable politician in my memory and I remember seeing Harry Truman in the news reels. Now that I think about it I'm sure Truman would have liked her too.
