The real issue is the way Trump jumped immediately and opportunistically to claim victory; it was an impressive display of oneupmanship, a skill that is sorely lacking on the part of the right. This opinion isn't shared by many left wingers.
Though the Krauthammer crowd decries Trump, it's important to note that Trump is inoculating upcomers from criticizing The One. More cries of racism emanated from the usual parties today, but it's really really tiresome. They're wearing it out.

Now if only some other REAL candidate will step up and show the kind of intestinal fortitude the Donald has shown.
Meanwhile (amidst the raging that EVERYONE has to show a birth certificate for jobs, for passports, for retirement and pension plans and questions about why he took so dang long to show it) The One's cult following are disappointed because the certificate revealed that his birth was not an immaculate conception, as some wag pointed out on the internets somewhere.

Now if he would just take a drug test. I thought Trump's performance on that New Hampshire tarmac took first place for sheer,unadulterated, over-the-top, chutzpah. He grinned like he had just shot his first caribou. He was proud that he had played a major role in ending the very controversy he had created. Hell, if he were to be elected he would want to put the country on the brass standard. Obama, OTOH came off like a wimpy whiner who had been sent to bed early for petulance and disobedience.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on that press conference. I'm still chortling about the whole ridiculous image he presented by getting all huffy and preachy and then trotting his pampered skinny carcass off to sit on Oprah's couch to make fun of citizens who simply don't believe him.
That article by Andrew Malcolm in the LA Times about Obama's optics was spot on, and this incident only verified that Malcolm's right.
The guy is totally clueless or evil when it comes to the way things look. I mean, call for sacrifice and then fly out to Hollywood? Go golfing during a funeral? Appear on every tv program known to man for cheesy "Look at me" performances but disappear for days and even weeks when it comes to national tragedies?
Come on. This is not a serious candidate for office.
