Appalling

One of the many things that is so appalling about this whole health care mess is the buying off various votes: the Louisiana purchase, a hospital in Connecticut, bribing of UFO Dennis Kucinich with a ride on AF One, promises of special jobs (especially for congressmen who will surely be voted out), a bank in North Dakota for Conrad...the worst, however, is the release of water to the California farms.
To think that those farmers who have been suffering for so long because of a dang minnow or whatever and who have petitioned numerous times to let the water flow through their part of the state and only now, ONLY NOW, as a political quid pro quo, will those waters flow again. This is an abuse of power, bar none. Restricting that water was taking the fruit of the earth and controlling it for a political purpose. It was barring farmers, who work with their hands and feet in the soil and who have BEGGED for relief from government regulations, from something that we all need just to survive: water.
Any government entity that could be bought and sold in such a manner has no conscience, no sense of fairness and no balance in governance.
