The new Puritans

     Liberals have mocked our Puritan tradition for years. Funny how, when it suits them, they seem to be taking on some of the characteristics they themselves have been complaining about, including condemning certain behaviors as "sin." Funny how certain behaviors which are not moral become an issue of morality, in a liberal's eyes. Smoking is sin. Now soda drinking is sin. The title of this piece at the NYT is "Soda-A Sin We Sip Instead of Smoke." Smoking marijuana isn't wrong; prostitution isn't wrong. Yet drinking Pepsi is. And notice the threatening tone this author takes toward those who transgress. 
     Who are the new Puritans now?
