Fishing rights

As we previously reported, the Great Lakes have been assigned a czar and are being zoned. The word all over the web (in case you didn't know) is that ESPN is reporting that the Obama administration is about to ban fishing...commercial and recreational from most areas in the coastlines and Great Lakes of our great country. What a wonderful experience it is to go with a loved relative and sit all day in a boat, waiting for the fish to bite. Read about it over at The Blog Prof, who lives in Detroit:

The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing some of the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters. 

...That's a disappointment, but not really a surprise for fishing industry insiders who have negotiated for months with officials at the Council on Environmental Quality and bureaucrats on the task force. These angling advocates have come to suspect that public input into the process was a charade from the beginning.
