An ominous development

If you followed the Drudge Report today, you noticed that the dollar is quite shaky and there is concern around the world about its efficacy. You also noticed that Obama is in love with the UN and quite committed to it. Then you saw the article about the article about global currency being put into place to replace the dollar. In the past, the UN has also encouraged the passage of a global tax to support poor countries, in addition to what is already being done. This is to be done in the name of equity. A number of countries, including China and Russia, have suggested replacing the dollar as the world's reserve currency

In a radical report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said the system of currencies and capital rules which binds the world economy is not working properly, and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crises.

It added that the present system, under which the dollar acts as theworld's reserve currency , should be subject to a wholesale reconsideration.
