With friends like these...

It's a strange world I find myself in. Why suddenly do I trust the judgments of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Wikileaks hustler Julian Assange more than men and women I've supported on this blog? Men and women who I thought had a modicum of candor and integrity.
I never really trusted Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio has been a source of disappointment since his gang of 8 sellout. Portman sold out for a promise of protection for the steel industry. Wow Senator, back when we still had a steel industry that may have been an equitable compromise but that industry imploded 30 years ago. Didn't you get the memo? Ted Cruz did say that he had read the agreement but Senators Rubio and Graham voted for fast track sight unseen. Of all the GOP presidential candidates only Rand Paul voted no on fast track but he seems determined to carve out a foreign policy position to the left of Obama. I can understand betrayal on the part of Susan Collins and Mark Kirk who are too squishy to help themselves but Senator Ron Johnson? Et tu Brute?
It is not that the 1% are getting richer that bothers me rather it's the 99% are getting poorer. So how does Washington seek to reverse that trend? By selling the 99% down the river both through trade that is not free and more H-1B visas. Would someone please explain why "free trade" must be articulated in a document longer than Obamacare, the contents of which will not become known to the American public until four years after it has been ratified? "We have to pass it to see what's in it", eh Speaker Boehner?
The sorry bastards cannot even protect high skilled jobs now so why would we think they will suddenly see the light after TPP is law of the land? Both Disney and Commonwealth Edison have laid off IT workers and replaced them with foreign workers whom loyal the employees are forced to train to receive their severance pay. Let's hear it for Judas Iscariot! Just to rub salt in the wound Obama promises to issue work permits to the spouses of the two bit imports. My vision of the Tea Party is one that supports the American middle class first, last, and always, one that tells the Chamber of Commerce and Business Round Table to go to hell, a vision that sees government as the problem not the solution. Evidently that is a minority opinion.

  1. I don't get this either. I simply don't understand why we don't have ANY transparency. I heard there's a pretty nasty codicil on that trade bill too. I'm trying to keep my sense of humor but John "I don't like messy" Boehner is making me really mad.

  2. And I agree about Wikileaks. I find myself cheering and hoping they come through on stuff like this.

    1. I hope Wikileaks comes through but did you see the Kim Dotcom video where he said Assange will be Hillary's worst nightmare?

    2. Not her but I saw someone else saw that on Neil Cavuto. It's pretty incredible and I say YES! Expose her for what she is. I look forward to it.
