GOP holds largest lead in decades
As readers can see from the above graphic support for Republicans in the generic congressional vote presently exceeds that of 2010 when the GOP picked up 63 house seats. In fact the GOP has not enjoyed this level of support in over two decades. Pew cites two reasons; Obama's personal dismal poll ratings and the unaffordable Obamacare.
Same again, sir? No thank you. By a margin of more than 2-1, 65%-30%, Americans say they want the president elected in 2016 to pursue different policies and programs than the Obama administration, rather than similar ones.
To add further perspective to this poll when Newt Gingrich and the GOP ousted the Democrats from the House in 1994 Republicans trailed in this poll 45% to 47%.
