Indiana adopts Common Core Lite

Indiana has become the first state to withdraw from Common Core but the replacement standard might be called Common Core Lite. Retired University of Arkansas professor Sandra Stotsky who was hired by Governor Mike Pence as a consultant calls the change "a grand deception".
"It makes a fool of the governor," Stotsky said. "The governor is being embarrassed by his own Department of Education if the final version is too close to Common Core."
She claims 70% of Common Core remain in effect.
