Kwame Kilpatrick; He's in the jailhouse now!

Long time friend of Barack Obama, Kwame Kilpatrick will soon join long time friend of Barack Obama, Rod Blagojevich in the federal penal system. Maybe they can meet up with Jesse Jackson Jr. and relive the heady days of 2009 when the election of Obama appeared to be their collective pass to the good life. Now the showy, flamboyant, and ever loquacious to the extreme, former mayor of Detroit would probably sell his soul for a soap-on-a-rope.
Federal Judge Nancy G. Edmunds threw the book at poor Kwame. She gave him 28 years! “At the very least, a significant sentence will send a message that this kind of conduct will not be tolerated,” said Judge Nancy. Yeah, but that's hip-hop mayor of Motor City she's talking about and it's twice the significant sentence Kwame and his lawyers had in mind. If prosecutors had been interested in reining in this malfeasance 50 years ago maybe Detroit would be solvent today but Kilpatrick is only one of the hundreds of felons, both prosecuted and not, the voters elected to do in the Motor City. The voters get what they deserve and in this one instance so did the offender.
