Love says he and Obama played cards during the raid.
In addition to the fact that true leaders--even leaders from behind--should be able to face the consequences of their directives, is it not truly bizarre that the man in charge of those men's lives would retreat to the dining room in fear of what was going to happen.
From CNN:
"[President Obama] was like, 'I'm not, I'm not going to be down there, I can't watch this entire thing'," Love said. "We must have played 15 hands-15 games of Spades."Treacher at NRO notes this:
The “entire thing” lasted around 220 minutes — about 180 minutes of which consisted of helicopter rides to and from the compound, during which nothing was really happening. Sources (a.k.a. people who have played spades) tell Daily Intelligencer that a hand of spades lasts around ten minutes, so fifteen hands would take approximately 150 minutes. So while the timeline is unclear, Obama wasn’t necessarily playing cards upstairs during any of the exciting parts. And the Daily Mail reminds us what Obama originally said about the raid, which he repeatedly took credit for during his campaign:
Obama has previously said that he watched the raid in real time in the Situation Room with members of his national security team. It's not clear when he stepped away to play cards.
'This was the longest 40 minutes of my life,' the president told NBC News a year after the raid, referring to the amount of time the Navy SEALs had to complete their mission after landing at the bin Laden compound in Abbottabad. And a Navy Seal claimed in his book that Obama was golfing 20 minutes before the raid actually took place.
There have been consistent rumors that Obama was photoshopped into the picture of the Situation Room during the bin Laden raid. You can read a detailed photo analysis at the link above to American Thinker.
Allahpundit at Hot Air thinks Love is talking about the minutes immediately following the raid.
Regardless, it appears Obama was hiding from the action during the time frame and this behavior does not speak well for presidential behavior.
Indeed, it is more indicative of a disengaged coward whose presidency is being run by others.
Maybe like Valerie Jarrett, POTUS's right hand man.
