Who could have guessed we'd descend this quickly into the culture of death, an iron fisted culture that promotes business and taxpayer funding of the murder of innocent babies, a practice both morally and spiritually reprehensible?
This new Obama culture whines that others must take responsibility for actions that belong solely to an individual.
This culture forces churches to participate in practices that are abhorrent to them.
It encourages cheating.
In this culture one man--beloved by fools--holds sway over the minds of the soft-headed and young.
So when respected conservatives and practical thinkers like John Bolton and Mike Huckabee suggest that Obama will not serve out his term because of the Benghazi betrayal and murders, color me skeptical.
We don't know what will happen, of course, but Leftists have become such artists at deception and manipulation that one has to wonder if the many inept Republicans in office will be willing to do anything to actually confront the bastardly behavior exhibited by the State Department and this administration.
From FNC we hear the testimony of one who was there:
"I believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split," he said. "They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them."
Hicks suggested the Libyan government expected a request to use their airspace, and claimed the Libyans "were as surprised as we were" that U.S. military personnel did not arrive until later on.Huh. Even Libyan military personnel were surprised we did not help our own?
Instead the trusted Panetta, the man in charge, later claimed "there was not enough time" and the assault was not "prolonged" enough to do anything.
There was no "adequate warning," Panetta complained, (Really? Like what. A terrorist telegram saying the attack begins now? Because embassy personnel had been asking for more security for months. Still, are there ever "adequate warnings" in terrorist attacks??) to signal scrambling the jets that sit waiting for just such an incident as this, an incident that took place from 21:40 September 11 until 4:00 a.m. the next day.
Imagine this.
Imagine, Mr. Obama, Ms. Clinton, Mr. Panetta, hearing the cries of people you know--friends, even-- under terrorist attack (a fact that all acknowledged from the beginning of the attack) begging you to save their lives.
All you have to do is to order others to help.
Your safety is never in question.
Indeed, there is no threat to your health or even well-being, other than political considerations.
All you need to do is call others who are eager to do their jobs, which is to save lives.
But you say no to the soldiers who have heard the cries for help, who know their friends need them, to save them from torture and/or death.
Instead you call those soldiers who are already scrambling in Tripoli--400 miles away--as they are in their vehicles on the way to the C-130 and tell them not to go. They don't have the "right authority," you tell them.
In addition, you deliberately cut out of the information loop the counterterrorism unit assigned to deal with such situations.
Trouble has been anticipated for months (see complete timeline here) and the first shots are fired on September 11, 2012 at 21:40. The attack lasts until at least 4:00 of the next morning, the survivors not evacuated until 7:40 a.m.
You have seven hours to help, but instead you go to bed.
Disappear from the scene. And go to sleep.
I'm just wondering. How do you sleep at night?
Those friends of the fallen who wanted to do their jobs are agonized; they cannot keep this complete abdication of responsibility quiet and so information begins to seep out, long after the election.
So to tamp down the post-election post-murder impact, you send your people out again.
Oh, poo, says one. That was a long time ago.
What difference does it make anyway?
You say you are "not familiar" with the "NOTION" that people who know the truth are being threatened by your administration to keep quiet.
So then you begin the very dirty, very nasty work of discrediting those agonized few who are willing to put their lives and careers into a vice to expose the truth.
Why do the whistleblowers do this?
Because they want to remember that, in the days following the murders, they, at least, did the right thing to honor the lives of those they did not try to save.
Those friends who called in the middle of the night and begged for help, those friends who so long ago pleaded for reinforcements to not be left behind still haunt them, their dreams.
They, unlike you, hear the voices, hear the shots, see in their dreams the red laser point as one soldier creates a landing point for the helicopter that never came, only to become himself the target, his blood splattered across the tiles, just as the life of the man beside him (who is a soldier in heart and deed if not in fact) is snuffed, stolen. A life that could have been saved.
Murdered on a roof top, waiting for his "friends" to come, sure they'll be there.
Politicians, to be sure, are not soldiers.
They do not abide nor do they live by The Soldier's Creed to leave no man--dead or alive--behind.
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
And why would the American soldier swear to never leave a fallen comrade?
Why?
Because when they enter conflict, they want to know they are not alone.
They understand that loyalty is more important than any other character quality in a conflict that a soldier has voluntarily entered.
Apparently politicians are not bothered by such nuisances as loyalty.
You--the ones who could have saved those lives-- can sleep no matter what you have or haven't done.
Must be nice to be you.
well they counted on Romney to be a loyal American and trust the president and the media and the political process.... and they managed to steal the election... then stall ..stall .. stall ... until everyone forgets what the heck is this all about? But wait .... cover-up? whistle blowers? I don't recall? Hmmmm? Those are not the kind of "lawyered up" answers that real Americans think of with very high regard. If this was any other business in America, the CEO would be placed on leave, pending an investigation of his actions or inactivity that contributed to the death of his loyal employee. An employee who pleaded for help and support. If his death was in part due to the political climate and strategy of this president and his administration, then the blood stains will not depart from his legacy...unless it is somehow blotted out with the ink of the liberal press. After all they still think he is the coolest president we've ever had... isn't that enough... what more do you want?
