As I've said repeatedly, many conservatives are depressed over the direction of the country, the election and the apparent "influence" of the many low information voters, some of whom still proudly sport their "Obama/Biden 2012" bumper stickers, believe it or not.
Dr. Helen discusses why conservatives are so much more depressed than Leftists after W. was re-elected, suggesting that the media's constant harassment and ridicule of conservatives makes it much harder to remain optimistic.
I went further, suggesting that many conservatives see the devolution of our republic as apocalyptic.
And, of course, that same media that must construe every conservative action as evil slobbers and celebrates everything the Obamas do, neglecting to report on the vast amounts of cash the Obamas spend both personally and nationally. The media ignores the hypocrisy of telling the little people not to drive or spend while the elite fly around the world on vacations...several times.
And it's also a shame that the conservative organizations like FreedomWorks and Glenn Beck are involved in cat fights. Of course, Leftists can be involved in arguments and no one will report on it.
And it sure doesn't help that Alex Jones is out there blowing up on tv, even to such a boob as the oh-so-deportable Piers Morgan.
Yet I refuse to remain under the circumstances, bearing in mind that all politics is cyclical and that America is (still) the brightest hope of the world, especially when you consider the alternatives.
Statistically we do have numbers on our side as more people identify with conservatives than liberals, even if they didn't vote that way this last election; the worst thing we can do now is give up, or withdraw in despair and quit fighting the Leftist machine that has developed since the 60s radicals have taken charge of our colleges and our government.
So let me point--again--to some encouragement on the web.
We can start with a post by Andrew Klavan at PJ Media, whose main points are that 3 things point to our direction: prosperity through fracking (which, ironically, may have led to Obama winning Pennsylvania & Ohio), federalism through the significant gubernatorial gains and reality, which has begun to really bite this year.
Indeed, even in Michigan, it looks like their state supreme court will move to a 5-2 majority Republican based on the latest Leftist Democrat resignation in shame and under threat of federal charges.
But there's more.
With the increase of the social security tax from 4.2% to 6.2%, even hard line low information voter Democrats have been jolted and that's only going to get worse as Obamacare kicks in this year. You really have to read the Twitchy Leftist tweets to fully (schadenfreudenly) appreciate the agony of realizing that their hero may have lied to them.
The whole lying thing is catching up with the deified one.
Though gun owners have been shaking in their boots and metaphorically arming themselves to fight Obama's attack on guns, much of what Obama wants will not happen, since even some Democrat politicians want to keep their guns, although it remains unbelievably infuriating that the future and behaviors of 318 million people are determined by a few pampered, elitist politicians whose main goal is feathering their own nests.
Conservatives are active around the country, exemplified in the latest support of Hobby Lobby.
It is no doubt that we need outspoken conservatives in this country.
One of the most strengthening columns I've read recently is this one by Sarah Hoyt, in which she encourages readers to be cheerful, be optimistic, be involved in what's happening in your and your children's lives.
Feel free to mock and ridicule the opposition, making sure you freely make your opinions known rather than being cowed by Leftists.
Success requires involvement. Success requires vigilance. (Like this.)
