Oh, come on, people!
This administration is the snoopiest most privacy invasive group of people in history.
Of COURSE the White House knew about Petraeus's behavior before the election.
Of COURSE the White House knew about the Benghazi attack before the election.
Of COURSE the White House knew about threats against Benghazi before the attack.
Of COURSE the White House knew there was an attack by Iran on an unarmed drone.
Of COURSE the White House knows that hundreds of thousands of people will be laid off or cut back in hours.
And Petraeus's utter lack of judgment in these matters HAD to figure into the choice of Petraeus as CIA chief. It's the lack of judgment is what made him appealing as a malleable choice.
Blackmailed?
Of COURSE Petraeus was being blackmailed....by this administration!
Get real.
It might take a month or more, but eventually the formerly MSM aka Press Corpse will get into the fun feeding frenzy that scandals inspire, even with this bunch of bozos in the White House.
And then there's the suggestion that conservatives ought to try to secede.
Please.
Get it together.
We've faced down socialists before. We repaired after Carter. Then there was Reagan.
We WILL do this.
It is ironic, though, that a 5-star general never saw this coming - an ambush from within.
ReplyDeleteSo goes the lesson of greed, if anyone is into learning a lesson.
Had Petraeus retired at the top of his game, rather than covet the 'glory' of a civilian position at the top, he would have secured his legacy.
Now, he exits in ignominy.
Who knows? Was it the power? Arrogance? I suspect he knew a lot more than he allowed himself to think.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe he even had assurances that everything would be ok. You just don't know. I suspect we never will, with this most "transparent" administration in the history of the (still) republic.
Hey, it would have been a good gig (and we would have trusted him in it) if he hadn't had such BAD JUDGMENT WHEN IT COMES TO CHICKS.
I mean. Have you seen his wife? Muffin? Yowza.
