Why is gas suddenly so cheap in NW Ohio?

I saw it at $2.99 a gallon today but only got a pic of this price, which is all over the place right now.
Just curious why gas prices started sinking about 2 weeks ago when it was about $3.80 a gallon.
  Now???

  1. Because WTI crude is down to about $86 per barrel and refineries have switched to the less costly winter blends.

  2. I thought about that but was hearing higher prices around the country, not the least of which is the $4.50 per gallon in California. Was listening to the news and hearing higher, where they were saying gas was averaging about $3.57 around the nation. Just curious. How much is it in your area?
