Seven States Move Toward Romney on Karl Rove's Map

Karl Roves map reflects the surge Romney has experienced since the debate.
Seven states changed status and strengthened for Mitt Romney after two weeks of favorable state polling following his impressive performance in the first presidential debate. Montana moved from "lean" to "safe" Romney; North Carolina moved from "toss up" to "lean" Romney; Ohio, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Nevada moved from "lean" Obama to"toss up;" and Connecticut shifted from "safe" to "lean" Obama. Mr. Romney now has a total of 159 "safe" Electoral College votes with four "lean" states (47 EC votes), while Barack Obama is down to 194 "safe" EC votes and three "lean" states (43 EC votes). There are eight states (95 EC votes) in the "toss up" column, although Mr. Romney is leading in Florida and Colorado, is tied with Mr. Obama in Virginia, and is gaining ground in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Iowa.
In other polling the USA Today poll show especially in battleground states Romney has closed the gender gap. Notice in battleground states Obama leads Romney by only one point 49 to 48 among likely female voters. Pollsters have identified the "waitress mom" as Romney's new found demographic. The "waitress mom" is a married, with children, white, working class, female who works out of necessity not for personal fulfillment.

Dick Morris is a perpetual optimist. In 2010 he was predicting the Republicans would retake the senate and at one point he predicted they would pick up 100 house seats. In individual races he is frequently right. He is right more often than not but take what he say with a grain of salt. In the video below he tells Sean Hannity that Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and possibly New Jersey are in play this year.
