Perhaps taking his lead from
Lindsey Lohan, Piers Morgan, CNN talk show host and former talent show judge, writes in the Daily Mail,
"He's one of the least principled politicians I've met. But I believe Mitt Romney might just save America."
I too, think Romney can save America and when Morgan describes Romney as one of the least principled politicians he has met he is referring to Romney's frequent political flip-flops that troubled many of us with a conservative bent. As far as personal principles are concerned Romney is probably the most principled man he has ever met.
Should Romney now win on November 6, America will not only have replaced its first black President with its first Mormon President.
It will also have elected the squeakiest-clean man ever to run for the presidency in any country in the world.
Imagine for a moment an interview with a British politician that went as follows:
Q: Have you ever drunk alcohol?
A: No.
Q: Have you ever taken drugs?
A: No.
Q: Have you ever had an affair?
A: No.
Q: Have you ever smoked a cigarette?
A: No.
Q: Do you ever use swear words?
A: No.
Now imagine that politician was actually telling the truth. Short of Ann Widdecombe, I can’t think of a single MP in our illustrious nation’s history who would be able to answer ‘no’ to more than half these questions.
Morgan goes on to praise Romney's business acumen, personal generosity, and marital fidelity in sickness and in health, a vanishing personal attribute in American politics.
CNN is a member in good standing of the mainstream media and there is a very finite number hosts in the mainstream so when one of them writes about Romney in glowing terms it's bad news for Obama. It plays into the Preference Cascade theme my partner has written about and has probably upset many on the left.
