The snippets on display today and the fact that he talked and talked and talked and was SO boring mean people weren't really watching.
You'll note that the networks are beginning their coverage of the last night of the DNC at 9:00 pm as opposed to 10:00.
That's two hours.
Wasn't RNC last night coverage limited to one hour from 10:00 to 11:00? If so, WHY?
So Bill Clinton, along with unionists and the Obama team, claims that Obama saved the auto industry.
Tea Partiers and many Americans did not agree with the auto industry bailout; whether it's saved or not remains to be seen. There were many negative repercussions from the partisan way it was done.
But Obama did NOT make the decision to "save the auto industry."
No.
George Bush, who hasn't changed his mind about it. did.
He met with Obama 6 days after the election
Obama turned the bailout into a nightmare of unionist demands, taxpayer sacrifices and partisan auto dealers' closures.
The New Yorker:
On December 19, 2008, a week after Republicans in the Senate had killed a bailout bill proposed by Democrats, saying it didn’t impose big enough wage cuts on the U.A.W., Bush unilaterally agreed to lend $17.4 billion of taxpayers’ money to General Motors and Chrysler, of which $13.4 billion was to be extended immediately. He had to twist the law to get the money. Deprived of congressional funding, he diverted cash from the loathed TARP program, which Congress had already passed, but which was supposed to be restricted to rescuing the banks. “I didn’t want there to twenty-one-per-cent unemployment,” he said to a meeting of the National Automobile Dealers Association in Las Vegas last month, explaining why he acted as he did. “I didn’t want history to look back and say, ‘Bush could have done something but chose not to do it.’ ”So get it SHTRAIGHT, Leftists.
George Bush bailed out the auto industry.
Believe me.
We Tea Partiers remember.
thanks for clarifying and while we are clarifying things .... is it just me but The FORMER GOVERNORS OF OHIO AND MICHIGAN SEEM VERY BITTER. I worked for Strickland when he was the governor of Ohio and he touted himself to be a fine Christian man and even quoted scriptures the other night. But i was amazed how his tone was so angry and hateful and how all the credit for the Ohio economy recovery is at the hands of saint Obama.... what about current Governor Kasich? You would have thought Stickland was still in charge.... He must be in heaven there, because when he comes back to Ohio he usually can't draw enough of a crowd to fill a burger king parking lot... and that is only if he is at the window taking their order.
